When Cheryl introduced this song, she said she used to be miserable all the time, sitting in her house drinking coffee. This is one of the songs that came out of that period.
This is a song that Cheryl hasn't performed for some time. It is a very old song that has never been recorded. I keep telling her this is a song she should start performing again. I got e-mail from a couple once who had seen her perform this song. They said it was the highlight of the evening. I could believe it. It is a great song.

- It don’t much seem to matter how the evenins go
- For that mornin’ sun comes slowly along
- The day brings back the distance and wipes the mood away
- Like all the stars who couldn’t stay after the dawn
- And I’m like a wheel on a wire
- Speedin’ along the track
- Travelin’ too fast for lookin’ back
- And I can’t see
- One more cup of coffee in a ragged afternoon
- Seeing the sun beneath the moon I drift away
- And out among the shadows, the passion comes to rise
- In all the pairs of hungry eyes who’s glances stray
- And I’m like a wheel on a wire
- Burnin’ along the track
- Travelin’ too fast for lookin’ back
- And I can’t see
- I feel like a wheel on a wire
- Speedin’ beyond control
- Bated and breathless I feel my soul
- Spin out of me.
